Michael Swaby, MD, is board certified in Dermatopathology by The American Board of Dermatology and The American Board of Pathology and in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by The American Board of Pathology. He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine and completed residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and fellowship training in Dermatopathology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. In addition to his work as a Dermatopathologist at Medical Pathology Associates, Dr. Swaby is also the Medical Director.

Anisha Patel, MD is board certified in Dermatology by The American Board of Dermatology and in Dermatopathology by The American Board of Dermatology and The American Board of Pathology. She graduated with a Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine, completed residency training in Dermatology at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR and fellowship training in Dermatopathology at The University of Texas-Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. In addition to her work at Medical Pathology Associates, Dr. Patel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Dermatology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Julia Kauffman, MD is board certified in Dermatology by The American Board of Dermatology and in Dermatopathology by The American Board of Dermatology and The American Board of Pathology. She graduated with a Doctor of Medicine from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, completed residency training in Dermatology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center and fellowship training in Dermatopathology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. In addition to her work at Medical Pathology Associates, Dr. Kauffman maintains a private clinical dermatology practice.

Brandon P. Goodwin, MD

Brandon P. Goodwin, MD is board certified in Dermatology by The American Board of Dermatology and in Dermatopathology by The American Board of Dermatology and The American Board of Pathology. He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine from The University of South Alabama College of Medicine, completed residency training in Dermatology and fellowship training in Dermatopathology at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. In addition to his work at Medical Pathology Associates, Dr. Goodwin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology and Dermatopathology at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and is the Clinic Director of the UTMB University Hospital Dermatology Clinics. Dr. Goodwin places great importance on medical education and enjoys teaching the fellows, residents, and medical students. As an educator, he has received the Alpha Omega Alpha award in teaching excellence, an award based on excellence in scholarship, gifted teaching, high professionalism, and leadership, and a Dermatology Faculty Teaching Award. His areas of interest in dermatopathology include melanocytic lesions, alopecia, cutaneous lymphoma, and clinical-dermoscopic-pathologic correlation.

Brent C. Kelly, MD

Brent C. Kelly, MD is board certified in Internal Medicine by The American Board of Internal Medicine, Dermatology by The American Board of Dermatology and in Dermatopathology by The American Board of Dermatology and The American Board of Pathology. He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, completed residency training in Internal Medicine at University of Texas Medical Branch in 2002, completed a Chief Resident year in 2003 and then Dermatology residency training and Dermatopathology fellowship training in Dermatopathology at The University of Texas Medical Branch - Galveston. In addition to his work at Medical Pathology Associates, Dr. Kelly is a full Professor with Tenure in the Department of Dermatology at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Kelly serves as Interim Program Director for the Dermatology residency program and Program Director for the Dermatopathology fellowship program. He has over 80 peer-reviewed publications and over 100 published abstracts. He is a member of the American Academy of Master Teachers, and over a dozen medical societies and is on several national committees related to the field.

Janice M. Wilson, MD is board certified in Dermatology by The American Board of Dermatology and in Dermatopathology by The American Board of Dermatology and The American Board of Pathology. She graduated with a Doctor of Medicine from the McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, completed residency training in Dermatology and fellowship training in Dermatopathology at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. In addition to her work at Medical Pathology Associates, Dr. Wilson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Wilson serves as the Associate Program Director for the Dermatology residency program. She is also heavily involved in medical student education, including her position as co-director of the Dermatology-Hematology-Musculoskeletal Integrated Medical Curriculum Course. Her areas of interest include melanocytic lesions and dermoscopic-pathologic correlation.
